Waiting on Wednesday…WARRIOR!

Everyone loves a good Waiting on Wednesday post…or at least I do!  This is a weekly feature where we share our excitement for books that are coming out soon.  It’s a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine.  I haven’t participated in a while but the excitement I have for this book is ridiculous!! So, I needed an outlet for that excitement because I’m not sure I can contain myself any longer.

Warrior cover warriorpreinfo

Before Warrior, this series consists of three books.  Three glorious books told from Sara’s perspective.  Now we finally get Nikolas’ story.  I don’t think I’ve ever read one of these types of books yet…where a series is retold from another character’s perspective.  I always figured what’s the point…I already know what happened.  Not this time! Because Nikolas is such an intriguing and amazing character that I must know what he’s thinking!!  Also the two character’s aren’t always together in the first three books so I must know what his story is.  If you haven’t started this series then I cannot be more serious when I say…READ IT NOW!  You will not regret it.  You know as a book lover how people are always asking you what book/series would you recommend….this is always the series I say.  Every time.  There’s warriors, vampires, trolls, and so much more but I won’t give everything away.  The story so far has been unique, compelling, and wonderful…and if I have to wait much longer for Warrior to come out I may explode.  Luckily, it’s finally October and I don’t have much longer to wait….I can totally remain calm.

I know I’m not alone in my excitement for this book….especially because there’s a facebook group called We are the Mohiri where we gather and rant and rave to our hearts content.  Luckily, Karen Lynch is an amazing author and she can be found in the group tossing us teasers to get us by.   I hope I have accurately conveyed how excited I am for this book and how much I’ll be celebrating when it come’s out…if not maybe this will help…

Make sure to leave me comments below letting me know what you think whether you’ve read the series already or not. I’d love to hear from you. Read on for the summary from goodreads. Happy Reading!

The warrior has finally met his match.

Nikolas Danshov is the Mohiri’s finest warrior, fearless and lethal with any weapon. For almost two hundred years, he has devoted his life to keeping humans safe from the demons that walk the earth. Revered by his people, he is a legend in his own time, a warrior undefeated in battle, and prepared for anything. Until her.

On a routine job in Maine, a twist of fate brings Nikolas face-to-face with the one person he had never expected to meet – his mate. Sara Grey is unlike anyone he’s ever met. Beautiful and fiery, she ignites his desire, while her innocence and vulnerability awaken a fierce protectiveness in him. Now all he can think of is keeping his mate safe from the dangers that hunt her, even if she fights him at every turn.

You know Sara’s story. Now read it again, through the eyes of her warrior.

Waiting on Wednesday: Books of a Feather!

With so many books coming out that I can’t wait to get my hands on I just had to participate in Waiting on Wednesday again.  Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  It’s a way for people to share and get excited about books that are going to come out soon.  Be sure to check out Breaking the Spine to see what they’re waiting on as well as to find links to everyone else’s posts.

I’ve mentioned before that I love cozy mysteries.  Recently I started the Bibliophile Mysteries Series about Brooklyn, a book restorer.  I just love books about books and this was a new take on it so I dove right in.  I LOVED it and instantly binge read the entire series…yep I’m not ashamed to admit that was 9 books.  I was excited to see there would be a 10th book.  There are almost no series that have held my interest for this many books.  So, before I go ahead with the info. on book 10 let me just say that if you haven’t started this series then I highly recommend it.  It has everything books, a crazy and fun family, an sexy British former MI6 guy, a dark mysterious guy, mystery and a lovable main character.  Now, on to the fun!

Summary via Goodreads:

Brooklyn’s friend Ian runs the Covington Library, which is hosting an exhibit featuring John James Audubon’s massive masterpiece, Birds of America, currently on loan from an Arab sheik. During the gala celebrating the book, she is approached by Jared Mulrooney, the president of the National Birdwatchers Society, who urgently needs Brooklyn’s skilled hands to repair a less high-profile book of Audubon drawings that’s fallen victim to spilled wine.

At the same party, Brooklyn is flying high after she’s asked to refurbish and appraise a rare copy of Poor Richard’s Almanac. But everything runs afoul later that evening when Mulrooney’s body is discovered in the library. Rumors fly about a motive for murder. Perhaps Mulrooney wanted to sink his claws into the pricey Audubon book, but Brooklyn believes the man died fighting off a daring thief.

Soon more troubles ruffle Brooklyn’s feathers. Her parents pop in for a visit with an unsavory friend in tow, and there’s a strange man on her tail. With danger beginning to circle Brooklyn’s every move, it’s clear she must find answers before things really go south . . .

I cannot wait to get my hands on this book!!  Have you read any of the Bibliophile Mysteries yet?  Are you a fan of cozy mysteries….what’s your favorite?  I love discussing fantastic books so leave your thoughts and comments below!  If you have a Waiting on Wednesday post I’d love to check it out so make sure to leave a link too.  Happy Reading!

Reading the gothic classic Rebecca already has the Readaholics spooked, and the chills only get worse when someone in town actually gives up the ghost….
Amy-Faye Johnson has her hands full coordinating the Celebration of Gothic Novels in Heaven, Colorado. The festivities start off smoothly, but the weekend is soon cursed with large egos, old resentments, and uninvited guests. Matters become truly grave when a dead body is found at the gothic-themed costume party.

The out-of-town authors claim not to know the victim, but Amy-Faye has doubts. With skeletons turning up in all of the suspects’ closets, Amy-Faye and the Readaholics must tap into their knowledge of gothic literature to find a killer who lurks in the shadows..

I have fallen in love with this series and can’t wait to catch up with all the great characters again.  If you haven’t started this series yet you have plenty of time to catch up before this one is out.  If you do, let me know what you think!  Also, make sure to leave a comment with links to your WOW posts, I’d love to check them out! myfunnyvalentineTitle:  My Funny Valentine (The Lizzie Hart Mysteries Book 4- a novella)
Author:  Caroline Fardig
Release Date:  January 28, 2016

Blurb via Amazon:

All Lizzie wants for Valentine’s Day is for her fiancé NOT to be the prime suspect in a murder investigation.

Is that too much to ask?

Lizzie Hart is finally living the dream. She’s engaged to the love of her life, Blake Morgan, and more importantly, she hasn’t even given a thought to dead bodies or murder investigations for an entire year. The only hurdle in Lizzie and Blake’s way to wedded bliss is introducing their polar opposite families to each other at their engagement party.

Blake’s parents have thrown a lavish shindig, but the fun is quickly over when Blake’s brother arrives with an unexpected guest, the woman who left Blake at the altar years ago. If that weren’t enough drama for one evening, Lizzie and Blake find the town mayor dead and the detectives on the case put Blake at the top of their suspect list.

It’s a race against the clock for Lizzie and Blake to find the real killer before the police decide to lock Blake up and throw away the key.

As you can see this is the fourth installment in the Lizzie Hart series and it’s a novella.   This series is AMAZING!!!  I devoured the first three books and was so excited to see that another one was being released.  I will be reading this the instant it comes out.  The characters are fun and this is the series that had me hooked on cozy mysteries again.  If you’re a fan I highly recommend you give this series a try.  Bonus…the series is part of kindle unlimited if you are a part of that.   I only wish it was a full length book instead of a novella because I want as much of these characters as I can get 🙂

Have you read anything by this author?  What did you think?  Are you a fan of cozy mysteries…if so I LOVE recommendations!  Let me know what books you’re waiting on this week and Happy Reading!

Waiting on Wednesday: Starflight!

Well I thought it was time for another Waiting on Wednesday post!  As most of you know Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by the wonderful Breaking the Spine.  If you love finding out about all the wonderful books that haven’t been released yet so you can add them to your TBR lists (like I do) then I recommend checking out the Breaking the Spine site so you can click on the links to everyone else’s posts.

The book I’m featuring this week is not usually a type of book that I read very often.  Which is why I felt like it deserved a post….the premise is so good that I can’t wait to read a book  that is WAY more sci-fi than I’m used to reading.  The book that I am talking about is…

Blurb via Goodreads:

Life in the outer realm is a lawless, dirty, hard existence, and Solara Brooks is hungry for it. Just out of the orphanage, she needs a fresh start in a place where nobody cares about the engine grease beneath her fingernails or the felony tattoos across her knuckles. She’s so desperate to reach the realm that she’s willing to indenture herself to Doran Spaulding, the rich and popular quarterback who made her life miserable all through high school, in exchange for passage aboard the spaceliner Zenith.

When a twist of fate lands them instead on the Banshee, a vessel of dubious repute, Doran learns he’s been framed on Earth for conspiracy. As he pursues a set of mysterious coordinates rumored to hold the key to clearing his name, he and Solara must get past their enmity to work together and evade those out for their arrest. Life on the Banshee may be tumultuous, but as Solara and Doran are forced to question everything they once believed about their world–and each other–the ship becomes home, and the eccentric crew family. But what Solara and Doran discover on the mysterious Planet X has the power to not only alter their lives, but the existence of everyone in the universe…

Doesn’t that sound fantastic?!  So, this is the first book featuring spaceliners and space that I am truly excited about reading!!   Sounds like it will have a ton of stuff to keep me reading…mystery, adventure, I’m going to guess maybe a little romance.  And Solara Brooks sounds tough and independent, which I enjoy in a main character.  While I wait for February to get my hands on this one, I currently started reading Alienated by Melissa Landers.  I’m about halfway through that one and it’s great! Look forward to seeing a review of that one up on the blog in the future.

Has Starflight made it onto your TBR list?  What are some other sci-fi books that you would recommend to a sci-fi newbie?  Are you a fan of Mellissa Landers?   I’d love to hear from you in the comments and be sure to leave links to your waiting on wednesday posts…I love checking them out!  Happy Reading everyone!

Waiting on Wednesday…P.S I Like You

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where you showcase a book that you are well…waiting for.  A book that hasn’t been published yet that you just can’t wait to get your hands on.  It’s a great way to share in your fellow booklovers’ misery as we all count down the days for a book to be released.  It’s also a great way for me to see what everyone else is waiting for and add to my never ending TBR list.

Usually I like to post a Waiting on Wednesday post when a book I can’t wait to read is being released soon.  I have to wait a bit longer to get my hands on the book I’m featuring this week though.  And that book is…

Title:  P.S I Like You
Author:  Kasie West
Expected Publication:  July 26, 2016

Blurb via  Goodreads :

What if the person you were falling for was a total mystery?

While Lily is spacing out in Chemistry one day, she picks up her pencil and scribbles a line from one of her favorite songs on the desk. The next day, someone else has written back to her on the desk! Soon enough Lily and the mystery student are exchanging notes, and lyrics, and even sharing secrets. When Lily finds out that her anonymous pen pal is a guy, she’s flustered — and kind of feels like she’s falling for him. She and her best friend set out to unravel the identity of the letter writer — but when the truth is revealed, the guy is the LAST person Lily could have ever imagined it to be. Now that Lily knows the truth, can she untangle her feelings and gather the courage to listen to her heart?

From beloved author Kasie West (The Distance Between Us) comes an utterly charming story about mixed messages, missed connections, and the magic of good old-fashioned secret admirer notes.

P.S. I Like You

I have a habit of binge reading…I binge read series and I also binge read authors.  Once I discover an author that I love I tend to want to get my hands on everything they’ve written.  I read The Distance Between Us and I fell in love and am currently making my way through reading all of Kasie West’s books.  P.S I Like You sounds like an adorable romance and I just can’t wait to read it.  There’s something romantic and timeless about falling in love via letters or in this case notes.  Basically, I’m excited about everything about this book! I’m just sorry I have to wait until next summer to get my hands on it.  Luckily for me I haven’t made my way through all of Kasie West’s books yet and just got an ecopy of The Fill in Boyfriend from my library…YAY!  So at least I have something to enjoy while I wait for this one.

Have you read anything by Kasie West? If you haven’t…what are you waiting for!! 🙂 If you have..What’s you favorite Kasie West book?  What book are you waiting for?  Leave your own links in the comments, I’d love to check them out! Happy reading all!

Waiting on Wednesday…

As most of you probably know Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  It’s a fun way to talk about books that you are eagerly, and in my case, impatiently, waiting for.  Quite often I am eagerly counting down until release day….it’s torture in some cases.  I also love Waiting on Wednesday because I can pop by Breaking the Spine and see links to everyone else’s posts and see what they’re waiting for…I like to know I’m not alone in my torture.  Plus, I can always use a few more books in my TBR pile.

This week I’ll be spotlighting a book that I have been wanting to read for a very long time.  It is the 3rd and last book in an amazing series!! If you haven’t started this series… what are you waiting for!! I’ll include some links for the first two books in the series at the end of the post so that you have no excuses 🙂

Waiting on Wednesday!

In case you don’t already know about it and love it, Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  It is where you feature an upcoming release that you are excited about.  I’m very excited to participate this week because the Top Ten Tuesday topic this week was fairy tale retellings. You may notice that I did not participate in that particular Top Ten Topic this week and there’s a very good reason for that…I haven’t read any fairy tale retellings! GASP! I know, it’s shocking but that led me to remember that I am currently eagerly waiting for a book to be released and it’s a fairy tale retelling! It will be my first one and I’m hoping that it plunges me into the wonderful world of fairy tale retellings. So without further delay here’s my pick:

Title:  Mirrored
Author:  Alex Flinn
Expected Publication Date:  September 15, 2015

Summary as seen on Amazon :

Celine’s life is the stuff fairy tales are made of. She’s beautiful, talented, and brave. Unfortunately, her tale comes complete with a wicked stepmother! When Violet steps into Celine’s life, everything changes and weird things begin to happen to her—bizarre accidents, strange illnesses, and rabid animal attacks. Celine doesn’t feel safe anywhere. It’s almost as if some hateful witch is out to get her.

And there is. Violet has been waiting all her life to have Celine’s father to herself. Getting rid of his gorgeous daughter is child’s play for a witch as powerful as she is. Happy-ever-after isn’t enough for Violet. She wants to be the fairest of them all, and Celine is in the way . . . but not for long.

Forced to take refuge with her friend Goose and his family, Celine gives up everything she loves and goes deep undercover. But will it be enough to fool Violet, or will Celine’s fate be decided by a reflection in a magic mirror? And where do you find Prince Charming in Miami anyway?

Mirrored is a modern retelling of Snow White—told from the points of view of Violet, Celine, and Goose—with all the magic and mystery readers will love.

Maybe it’s because I’ve always loved Snow White or maybe it was the beautiful cover that drew me in but once I read the blurb I knew that I would read this book!  There you have my Waiting on Wednesday pick! Let me know what book your waiting on or feel free to leave a comment with a link to your posts.  I love reading other peoples picks, not that my TBR list needs to be any longer. Happy Reading!
